Huntsville, Nov. 8, 2006 – I have been hearing alot lately about “worldview”, or “biblical worldview” or “christian worldview”. What does this mean? What does it have to do with you or me and the world around us and the world we can’t see?
World-view, world view, or worldview (noun)
– The overall perspective from which one
sees and interprets the world.
– A collection of beliefs about life and the
universe held by an individual or a group.
[Translation of German Weltanschauung] The American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language, Third edition, 1992
There are many different worldviews. However, my main focus for this artical is on the “Christian” or “Biblical” Worldview. Worldview can be religous or non-religous. Examples of some different worldviews are: Christianity, agnostacism, gnosticism, atheism, humanism, secularism, mysticism, postmodernism.
This was just a quick introduction so stay tuned for my next blog, where I will continue from here.
